Le Comité des Fêtes de la Place de la République

Founded in 1945 by Jules Pommier, René Dupont, Roger Lafond, René Gras.

From the beginning, the committee's task has been to bring to life the area around the Place de la République in Digoin.

In the early years there were sack races and various games, then pig races. Next came the fun fair.

2023 will be the thirty-two anniversary of the snail festival in the current form. There are more than 100 members on the committee today. 

The current president, Monsieur Jacky Pommier is the son of Monsieur Jules Pommier, one of the founding members. Our members also include the son of Monsieur René Dupont.

The committee has a great family tradition.
